We have an over 30 year track record of outstanding results in the courtroom in a wide range of employment law, business litigation (including patent disputes), and oil and gas litigation matters which has earned us the trust of our clients, the respect of the judiciary and our opponents, and the reputation as a premier Texas business litigation, employment law and oil and gas law firm. We are often hired by clients when their business or personal future is on the line – when someone’s life or business has been turned upside down or when a bad trial result could cause a business or individual to lose millions of dollars, a person’s livelihood or savings to be destroyed, or a patent to be invalidated. With every client we take, large or small, we respect the great trust you place in our abilities and dedicate ourselves to help you.

Multinational Fortune Global 500 corporations, other large businesses, small local businesses, individuals, employees, employers, doctors, lawyers, engineers, architects, developers, landowners, partnerships, corporate officers, families, entrepreneurs, inventors and others have hired our firm when faced with a compelling need for an effective and efficient business lawyer, employment lawyer or Austin, Texas oil and gas lawyer. We are very selective in the clients we represent and this selectivity allows us to provide the highest level of personal service and dedication to you. When our firm takes on your case, you will have an attorney who believes in the justness of your cause. If you want an experienced attorney who will be dedicated to you and tenaciously pursue or defend your interests, we welcome your consideration.

Focused, Innovative, Tenacious, Cost-Effective

We are a seasoned Austin trial lawyer firm with substantial experience and success in jury and bench trials, mediations, arbitrations, and appeals. Whether our representation of you involves private consultations and legal advice or a lengthy trial, we are focused on your needs and the most efficient way to handle your situation.

Greg Jordan has taught at the University of Texas School of Law for approximately fifteen years; been selected as a Fellow of the prestigious Texas Bar Foundation; and is certified as a life member of the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum, which is limited to attorneys who have won multi-million dollar verdicts, awards and settlements and is comprised of fewer than 1 percent of the attorneys in the United States. If you are looking for a successful, innovative and proven Austin business attorney, Austin employment attorney or Austin oil and gas attorney, we encourage you to consider us.

While we often handle large cases involving claims into many millions of dollars, we are not burdened with the pressing overhead and infrastructure of a large firm. We are agile, flexible and responsive in our representation of you. We believe these are traits a good attorney should have. We are a lean firm and you will not be subjected to layers of associates and bureaucracy. Because we run lean and refuse to carry the expensive overhead of many firms, we can be creative and cost-effective in representing you. We are entrepreneurial and offer a variety of flexible fee and billing arrangements. We do not want legal fees and expenses to prevent you from having the best representation.

Business Litigation Lawyer

Over the course of the last 30 plus years, we have represented clients in almost every type of business dispute imaginable. We have handled cases, arbitrations or disputes involving partnership breakups, real estate development deals gone bad, oil and gas royalty disputes, deed restrictions, employment discrimination, employment noncompetition agreements, contract breaches, breaches of fiduciary duties, franchise agreements, fraud, medical peer reviews, construction claims, defamation, product distribution, easements, pharmaceutical manufacturing, title disputes, claims against insurance companies, aquifer pollution, saltwater disposal disputes, and many more types of claims. As the saying goes, “we’ve seen a thing or two,” and that is a huge benefit for our clients.

We successfully handle litigation matters at all levels of our court system, including state district courts, county courts, appellate courts and the Texas Supreme Court. As well, at the federal level, we handle cases in the district and appellate courts. Our goal in handling litigation matters is to resolve them as efficiently and effectively for our clients as possible – regardless of whether that means a case is settled, tried to a jury, or won on appeal. We know that the best resolution for a client usually occurs when the other side recognizes the strengths of our client’s case and that we will take it through trial and all appeals, if necessary.

Oil and Gas Lawyer

Even before becoming an attorney, Greg Jordan was involved in the oil and gas industry as a petroleum landman and mechanical engineer. He brings an in-depth knowledge of the industry as a whole, and understands where the pieces of oil and gas “puzzle” fit. He often advises landowners with respect to oil and gas leases and negotiates such leases and other agreements, including easements and right-of-ways with the oil companies. He has handled numerous oil and gas related lawsuits, arbitrations, or disputes including ones involving oil and gas leases, oil and gas royalties, mineral ownership, oil and gas production, damage to surface lands by oil and gas producers, failure of producers to properly pay royalties, easements, pollution around gas plants, and matters before the Railroad Commission. There are very few law firms that have the breadth and depth of experience we have related to the oil and gas industry. We work hard to protect our clients’ interests and ensure that our clients receive all they are due from the oil companies.

Employment Attorney

We bring great breadth and depth of understanding to employment issues as well. Unlike most law firms that only represent employers or only represent employees, we have handled hundreds of matters for employees and hundreds of matters for employers. We understand the issues from both sides. Because of that we can often resolve matters before trial but, also because of that, when the other party refuses to be reasonable, we have a good understanding of how best to pursue our clients’ claims or defenses. It is a unique perspective and we use it to our clients’ advantage. We often provide advice with respect to employment policies and practices. We have handled untold numbers of claims involving non-competition agreements. We have further represented clients (both employers and employees) in hundreds of employment discrimination, retaliation or harassment disputes over the years. We have also represented parties in wage claims or Fair Labor Standards Act cases. As well, we handle matters before the Department of Labor, EEOC and Texas Workforce Commission. We are ready to assist with almost any employment issue you may have.

One particular employment area in which we find ourselves assisting more and more employers and employees over the past few years involves non-competition and non-solicit agreements. Employers often want to enforce such agreements and employees often seek to avoid them. The law in Texas related to non-competes has changed dramatically over the last 15 years. Usually avenues exist through which non-competition agreements can be attacked or through which they can be defended, depending upon how they were drafted and how a party seeks to enforce them. We have successfully defended and successfully attacked non-compete agreements on many occasions and we particularly look forward to assisting you if you have any non-compete issues.
